Rite Aid, Eckerd Ban Shock as Photographer Calls Off Settlement, Launches Protest Site

More controversy for Hachette’s Shock. Michael Yon, the photographer who sued the magazine for using a photo he took of a war-torn soldier on its cover without permission, then agreed to a settlement — has backed out of that settlement and has now launched a Web site urging a protest against the magazine, its advertisers, distributors and Hachette executives. Yon has posted e-mail addresses and phone numbers of Hachette brass on the site.

Yon says he backed out of the settlement when he learned his photo would be used to promote the magazine online.
