The Atlantic has just announced that beginning next month, Richard Florida will join the magazine as a Senior Editor. Florida has written several books, and is known for exploring the ways urban environments are beneficial for the economy as well as people. He says his work for The Atlantic – which will appear in print and on online – will continue in that vein:
For the first time ever, more than half the world’s population is living in cities. They are the driving force of our economy, and essential to innovation and prosperity. I’m thrilled to join The Atlantic in showcasing these important urban issues for leaders around the country and across the globe and building such a critical platform to help bring these issues to national and global attention.
