Republicans are Beating Democrats on Facebook
Yes, there are more fans of Republicans than of Democrats on Facebook. We asked Erin Hofteig, a new media strategist and a partner at Middle Coast what this means. “The disparity of fans on Facebook is indicative of the opposing strategies the left and right employ when it comes to social networking,” says Hofteig.
“There are a few reasons we are seeing this. First, the Republican Party infrastructure – the RNC, NRCC, NRSC and State Parties – require their candidates to engage in these platforms, set up the pages for them and help manage them in some cases.
