Report Says Longtime WNYW Anchor John Roland May Have Been FBI Informant
You no doubt remember anchor John Roland for his illustrious career at WNYW. Roland spent 35 years at WNYW (originally with the WNEW call letters), before leaving the station in 2004.
Now comes word that he may not have only been reporting for Channel 5. The Smoking Gun says Roland was an FBI informant in the early 1990s.
Roland has denied being the mole, telling The Smoking Gun that it “sure as heck doesn’t ring a bell.”
