Rep. Tom Marino's Press Sec. Ryan Shucard Arrested for Gun Possession at Capitol

Ryan Shucard, a press secretary for Rep. Tom Marino (R-PA), was arrested Friday morning by U.S. Capitol Police for attempting to bring into the Cannon House Office Building an unloaded 9mm handgun, which was discovered during a routine security checkpoint at entry.

POLITICO’s Lauren French reports, “William Tighe, the chief of staff for Marino, said Shucard was placed on unpaid leave once the office was informed of the arrest,” and that the office intends to cooperate with Capitol Police.

According to Shucard’s LinkedIn profile, he studied at the University of Northern Colorado with a quick stint at George Washington University, and at Columbine Senior High School.
