'Relief' At Hachette Filipacchi, Post-Merger

The layoffs at HFMUS now that the company has been acquired by Hearst are going to comprise about 18 percent of the staff, or 100 of the 550 employees there, Keith Kelly reports.

That’s a little less than was rumored, so ” the general mood is one of relief,” one HFM employee told Kelly.

That must be nice for 450 employees but not the 25 who will be laid off today or the 75 who will lose their jobs by the end of the year.

Steve Parr, who was the CEO of Hachette Filipacchi, has already learned he has lost his job.
