Reader's Digest Disregards Shelter Pub Struggles, Launches New Title

Domino couldn’t survive, but perhaps that’s because it was targeting the wrong group of homemakers. Reader’s Digest Association apparently thinks so. Mary Berner’s company is launching Fresh Home, a new magazine targeting the DIY home improvement set.

According to a release, 73 percent of home projects in 2008 were undertaken by the people living in the property (and all without Tool Time!) It’s clearly a magazine for these tough times.

“Never before has there been a home improvement magazine that is so in tune with the consumer living in today’s economy,” Alyce Alston, President of RDA’s Home & Garden and Health & Wellness affinities, said in a statement.
