The latest media hirings and firings

The exodus from The New Republic continues, with five staffers walking out the door, including chief operating officer Sloan Eddleston and production director Trina Robertson. Design director Erick Fletes, communications director Annie Augustine and story editor James Burnett are also leaving. However, there were a couple of additions to the mag, including Theodore Ross as features director and Paul Biboud-Lubeck, who will oversee finance and operations. “Paul was made for this job — he as been head of finance and operations at Valrhona Chocolate, the chocolatier where he has been for seven years helping run a large and complex business,” a memo from CEO Guy Vidra reads.
