Revolving DoorThe New York Times poaches Washington Post assistant business editor Ryan McCarthy to work on the paper’s audience development team. At WaPo, he edited Wonkblog and oversaw the creation of Storyline… The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard go through layoffs, with a total of 10 staffers losing out. THR parts ways with senior editor Alex Ben Block and film reporter Tim Appelo, while Billboard says goodbye to correspondent Phil Gallo and editor at large Joe Levy. The changes were called a “reallocation of resources,” according to a memo from Prometheus Global Media’s Janice Min, who oversees both publications, and president John Amato
