Gabriel Snyder is gone as editor at the New Republic after just 17 months. The former Gawker and Atlantic Wire editor, who came on board in 2014 during the Chris Hughes era, resigned, although the move sounds like it was encouraged by new owner Win McCormack. “We built an editorial team composed of new voices reflective of the breadth of American experience,” Snyder wrote in a memo to his staff. “You have announced a new generation, committed to the highest standards of journalism.
