The New York Daily News hires a host of new names, including former Time Out New York editor in chief Joe Angio as editor of the digital long-form unit and Clemente Lisi as deputy head of news. Additionally, Zach Haberman is the new head of content and Daily Kos' Shaun King joins as senior justice writer... News Corp snags former New York Times chief information officer Marc Frons as senior vice president and global head of mobile platforms and deputy head of technology. (That's a mouthful.) He spent almost a decade at the paper of record, where he helped launch the paywall...The New York Times installs Cecilia Kang as a reporter covering "the convergence of technology, media and telecommunications."... Kelly Andersen joins Gannett as vice president of branded content... The Daily Mail loses North America CEO Jon Steinberg, who joined from BuzzFeed in June 2014. He might be headed to Snapchat. David Spitz, who had been president under Steinberg, also left recently... The Associated Press says goodbye to vice president and managing editor Lou Ferrara, who's off to a new job he won't reveal quite yet... It sounds like former Bloomberg Businessweek editor Josh Tyrangiel is headed to Vice, where he'll head up the company's new daily news show. Tyrangiel hinted that he had something lined up when he stepped down from his previous position last week, and it's not a huge surprise that deep-pocketed Vice will be the destination... New York recruits Stacey Wilson Hunt from The Hollywood Reporter. She'll be West Coast editor... Condé Nast International hires Wolfgang Blau as chief digital officer for its stable of international publications. He had been director of digital strategy at The Guardian and previously edited the online edition of German newspaper Die Zeit... Nylon cuts about one-third of the staff in surprise layoffs. Executive vice president, chief revenue officer and publisher Dana Fields was among those let go... J. Wesley Judd leaves Pacific Standard for Outside, where he'll be assistant editor...Read More.
