Rare Joint Chiefs' Letter Blast Toles
In a rare letter to Washington Post managing editor Phil Bennett signed by all the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the military heads have complained about a cartoon by political cartoonist Tom Toles.
The focus of the “24 star” letter (PDF) is a cartoon depicting Donald Rumsfeld saying to a wounded veteran “I am listing your condition as battle hardened”–a reference to comments he made last week about the state of the military.
