Random House Launches Author iPhone Apps
Random House announced today the launch of three new iPhone apps to promote three of its authors. Steve Barry, Sophie Kinsella, and Karen Marie Moning now each have their own iPhone app created in collaboration with Mobile Roadie, the platform for musician-centered apps for bands including Alice in Chains.
The apps are free and offer book and audiobook previews, bonus content, social interaction, and author appearance listings, among other features.
Matt Schwartz, director of Digital Strategy for Random House, called these apps “a great opportunity for readers to access a world of content about their favorite authors instantaneously, wherever they are.”
This is probably the first and last time Karen Marie Moning and Alice in Chains will be mentioned in the same sentence, or even the same blog.
