Rand Paul Fires Back at ‘Gossipy Websites’ for GIF

So... It has come to this.

Apparently a standing ovation that may have broken C-SPAN’s sound equipment wasn’t enough for some critics. They needed Senator Rand Paul‘s full clapping capabilities to make Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu feel like he was Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl…

Several blogs including National Review, Bloomberg Politics and The Washington Free Beacon pointed out what appeared to be a less than enthusiastic Senator applauding the Prime Minister’s speech.

In response, Paul launched this vicious attack on “gossipy websites” during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning:

“You have these gossipy websites who really demean themselves by putting stuff like that out. I gave the prime minister 50 standing ovations, I co-sponsored bringing him here, and on the day that I also decide to co-sponsor the Corker bill saying that any final deal has to be approved, we have gossipy websites looking at, you know, the metric of how fast you clap. I mean, I think they demean themselves by putting that out”

Ahem… Senator Paul, not all of us “gossipy websites” are the same. Some of us are good and decent websites that are just given a bad name by a few troublemakers. #NotAllGossipyWebsites
