Quote of Note | Dennis Hopper

“Most kids take pictures and paint when they’re in school. I did that too. I went under contract with Warner Bros. when I was 18 years old so I never had to stop. I never had to stop painting or taking photographs, because now I was going to be a grown-up and do something else. Being a professional actor allowed me to live a cultural life. I did get some advice from James Dean at one time, because he saw me taking photographs, and he said, ‘You should not crop your photographs because some day you’re probably going to want to be a director. You can’t crop a motion-picture film.'”
