Queensland to Go iPad Only with Gov't Briefing Docs

The state of Queensland (Australia) has recently announced plans to abandon the cabinet briefing bags that have been used by senior officials and replace them with iPads.

Queensland Premier Anna Bligh (yes, she is related to the infamous captain) spoke at an IT industry lunch on Tuesday. She said that Queensland would be the “first jurisdiction in Australia to allow ministers to read their cabinet bag via their iPad”.

Switching to iPads will obviously reduce printing cost, but it’s also going to reduce the expense of distribution.
