Purple Prose: Why do E! and The Guardian have the exact same headline on the same story?

We’re a little confused. Is there a news sharing agreement between E! and the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper?

Or is something else going on? Because the coverage of Prince‘s unauthorized redecoration of Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer‘s home is eerily similar: E! correspondent Gina Serpe‘s story blares a headline: “Purple Pain for Prince’s Landlord.”

So does a piece by The Guardian‘s man in Los Angeles, Dan Glaister.

Coincidence? Maybe, but it’s a bit odd.

Someone at E! should E!mail us and tell us what gives.
