Purple Prose: Why do E! and The Guardian have the exact same headline on the same story?

We’re a little confused. Is there a news sharing agreement between E! and the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper? Prince_1983_Purple_Trench_Hands-1.jpg

Or is something else going on? Because the coverage of Prince‘s unauthorized redecoration of Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer‘s home is eerily similar: E! correspondent Gina Serpe‘s story blares a headline: “Purple Pain for Prince’s Landlord.”

So does a piece by The Guardian‘s man in Los Angeles, Dan Glaister.

Coincidence? Maybe, but it’s a bit odd.

Someone at E! should E!mail us and tell us what gives.
