Pulitzer-Prize Winning Cartoonist Joining Daily Kos

Mark Fiore's animated videos will appear each Thursday

Pulitzer-prize winning cartoonist Mark Fiore is now a regular contributor at progressive political blog Daily Kos, Markos Moulitsas, the website’s founder and publisher, announced Tuesday.

Fiore’s animated videos have appeared on the San Francisco Chronicle and National Public Radio websites; in 2010, he became the first exclusively online cartoonist to win a Pulitzer.

“Fiore probably makes more headlines than any other political cartoonist, and is a true innovator and pioneer in a medium that has seen a great deal of difficulties as newspapers die off,” Moulitsas wrote in his announcement. “He's proven that there can be life after print, and has pushed his medium forward like no one else. And he's funny.”

Fiore’s work, documented in this video from PBS Newshour, will be featured on the site on Thursdays. Earlier this month, cartoonists Jen Sorensen and Matt Bors joined Daily Kos Comics Editor Dan Perkins (aka Tom Tomorrow) as regular contributors.
