ProPublica Running Out of Spots to Fill

ProPublica, Paul Steiger’s vehicle for righting the wrongs of the world, is almost completely done hiring — a goal it aimed to have completed by June.

Just days after poaching Charles Ornstein and Tracy Weber from the Los Angeles Times, the organization announced the Marcus Stern, Chisun Lee, Thomas Detzel and Michael Webb will be joining the team.

Stern, currently news editor at Copley News Service, and Lee, counsel at Brennan Center for Justice at NYU’s School of Law, will be reporters, while Detzel, investigations editor at the Oregonian, comes on as an editor.
