Poynter Offers Buyouts
Oh no, oh no: The Poynter Institute is offering a retirement incentive plan to full-time employees over age 55.
Buyout participants must leave by July 1, 2009, and will get a severance package and healthcare “at a shared cost.” It sounds like a decent deal, though no specifics are available at this time, but Poynter? Poynter, the nonprofit that keeps watch over journalists across the country? These are the guys that are supposed to be stable.
