Poll: 60% of Large Firms to Cut Marketing Budgets in '08

Silicon Alley Insider reports that 60% of large companies are cutting their marketing budgets, according to a MarketingSherpa poll of marketing execs. That compares with 29% of mid-sized firms and only 13% of small companies.

As usual, online is the one saving grace; most companies are either leaving their 2008 online ad budgets intact or increasing them slightly. Silicon Alley Insider said that these results fit with what the “ad holding companies have been telling us about 2008: slower growth for digital ad spending than projected last year, but still healthy growth, compared to offline.”
