Eric Bradner, a trade reporter for POLITICO Pro, is set to join CNN as a reporter on the CNN Politics Digital breaking news team, we’ve learned. He joined POLITICO in August 2013 from the Evansville Courier & Press where he was the Statehouse bureau chief.
Bradner told FishbowlDC, “I’m excited about the move and about CNN’s vision for its digital politics team. This is a chance to play a role in building something special, right from the start. As a guy who came up in newspapers, it’s also a tremendous opportunity to learn a ton about video and social media alongside some really talented people. I can’t wait to get started.”
Bradner’s hire is part of CNN’s digital restructure. Last week, CNN executive director of Politics Digital Rachel Smolkin announced that Zach Wolf will join her as managing editor of CNN’s digital political endeavors. Smolkin was also hired from POLITICO in July by Ed O’Keefe, who in May was named VP of CNNMoney and Politics for CNN Digital.
