Politico Nets Tampa Bay Times’ Duo Bill Duryea and Michael Kruse for New Enterprise Project

POLITICO revised logo Award-winning Tampa Bay Times’ journalists Bill Duryea and Michael Kruse are leaving the Sunshine state and taking their talents to Washington.

Politico’s Susan Glasser sent out a staff-wide email yesterday announcing the new hires for the publication’s brand new enterprise project.

Duryea, who will lead the project, has served as the Times’ national editor for nearly a decade. He also edits the Floridian, a monthly news feature magazine.Screen Shot 2014-11-19 at 5.41.13 PM

“Bill is an incredible ideas-driven editor, and in addition to the team he’s built and runs day to day he has been an adept editor drawing from talent across the newsroom in Tampa, a model we are expecting he will follow here at Politico in working to develop great enterprise stories from across the staff,” Glasser said in the email.
