Politico Hires, Departures

A note from Politico management this week:

I am happy to announce that Fred Barbash joins Politico today as Senior Editor.

A little about Fred, from his bio:

Fred comes to Politico after two years on the faculty of the Medill School of Journalism and 25 years as an editor and reporter for the Washington Post, where he was, at one time or the other, the Post’s National Editor, London Bureau Chief, Supreme Court correspondent, Deputy Editor of Outlook and a founding editor, reporter, blogger and talking head on the Post’s Continuous News Desk, the Post’s first experiment with Washingtonpost.com in 24/7 news. Fred started in the news business during the stone age at the Baltimore Sun, where he covered Maryland politics and government. A native Washingtonian, he is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and lives in Washington with his wife, who is an attorney, and teenage son. He has a daughter as well in Cambridge, Mass.

Also, Politico web producer Chris Snyder, who has been with the site since launch is leaving Politico and Washington to join Wired.com in New York, blogging and writing about technology and the media.
