Player.me launched its social network for gamers on iOS and Android. The platform allows users to connect with other gamers while sharing content and browsing game pages.

With Player.me, users can post status updates and share pictures and videos with the community. Users can also connect to their YouTube and Twitch accounts to add their video content to their profiles for others to view.

The app includes a database of more than 50,000 game pages, allowing users to browse content related to specific games and like games within the app, as well as to post “now playing” updates by tagging their current games.

As a social network, users can follow others and view their new posts in a “following” feed, or they can browse content from all users in a “discover” feed. Users can post likes and comments on content in these feeds. Posts can also be pinned, which adds them to a “pinned” feed for easier viewing later on. Finally, users can chat with others via private messaging.

In a statement, Sean Fee, CEO of Player.me, commented:

There is an opportunity to create a real home for players to communicate, socialize, compete and create content. The players have been asking for our mobile applications for some time now, so we’re really excited to see how Player.me is used cross-platform.

Player.me is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
