With a new operating system comes new shortcuts for Pinterest.

Pinterest introduced new shortcuts for its iPad and iPhone applications in conjunction with Apple’s rollout of its iOS 11 operating system.

Saving Pins on an iPad is now much easier, as users can simply drag and drop. Pinterest iOS engineer Tim Johnsen said in a blog post, “Next time you’re browsing your favorite recipe blog on Safari, use your iPad’s split screen to open up your recipe board. When you find a recipe you want to save, drag and drop it to your board to save it automatically.”

iPad users will soon be able to drag Pins and boards out of Pinterest into other apps, such as iMessage, and share them with friends.

Pinterest users who store their login information in their iCloud Keychains can automatically log into the app.

Johnsen also reminded users of existing shortcuts, including:

  • Jump to your favorite parts of Pinterest: Long-press the Pinterest app icon on your iPhone to quickly access search, Lens and more.
  • Add Pinterest to your iOS share sheet to quickly save ideas you find in your favorite apps.
  • When you’re scrolling through Pinterest and you spot something you love, press and hold the Pin to save it quickly.
  • Swipe through Pins: Open up any Pin, and then swipe left or right to see what’s next in line, or swipe down to exit. David Cohen is editor of Adweek's Social Pro Daily.
