Pinterest users can now pinch to zoom in on Pins, and the social network also announced some enhancements to its visual search functionality.
Product manager Jeff Harris announced in a blog post last week that iOS users (iPhone and iPad) can zoom in on details in Pins, such as texture and color, by pinching.
Harris added that the feature will be extended to Android “soon,” saying that it had been one of Pinterest’s top requested features.
Pinterest also tweaked its visual search button, making it more clear and easier to reach for users, and Harris said early tests of the updated button have resulted in nearly 70 percent more users accessing its visual search tools.
Finally, Harris reminded Pinterest users that they can use the Pinterest Save button to conduct visual searches around the web, adding that visual searches can now be launched on Google Chrome by people without Pinterest accounts.
