Pierre Cardin to Launch Luxury Android Tablet

The UK based designer has unveiled a new Android tablet that, while very chic, is also rather pricy.

The Pierre Cardin PC-7006 is an Android tablet wrapped in your basic black. It has a 7″ capacitive touchscreen, and it’s running last year’s Android OS v2.2 on a Samsung 1GHz CPU. It also has 4GB Flash Storage and a microSD card slot. It has jut the one camera on the front, 1.3MP, but on the upside this tablet promises USB Host, which means you can add a USb keyboard, mouse, or even a 3G dongle.

This tablet also boasts Android Market, and that will give you easy access to thousands of apps. But this is still a rather price Android tablet. The retail is £275, which is about $451 USD (nearly as much as the Xoom, iPad, or other premium tablets). That’s a little much to ask for in a product category where already exists: it’s the iPad.
