Photofy: Edit photos with professional typography on iOS, Android

Photofy joins the photography enhancement genre on mobile with its release on iOS devices. The Photofy app allows users to take ordinary mobile photos and apply professionally inspired typography and graphics, as well as frames, stickers and more. The app works to allow users to “look like a professional without having a professional camera.”

Once registered, they can import a photo from their device’s camera roll, take a photo using the app, or even import images from Facebook, Instagram or Dropbox.

The app offers standard pinch-to-zoom and image rotation tools, and then offers a variety of typography sayings, which can be placed over the image. A picture of a beach, for instance, could have the saying “Making Memories” or “Thinking of You” placed on top of it, depending on the user’s desired message.

After the typography has been chosen, users can further edit the image by changing the color of the font, its location on the screen, its size and scale, and more. Frames and image filters are also available during this step. Once complete, images can be shared to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest and more.

Some typography designs are locked behind in-app purchase, while a private gallery feature is available for $3.99. This feature allows users to upload their own content to the Photofy platform, including business logos or hand-drawn artwork.

Photofy is now available to download for free on iOS and Android. Check back soon to follow Photofy on AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
