Other findings in the new report by Pew included:

  • 35 percent of Americans 65 and older use social media, up from 11 percent in 2010 and 2 percent in 2005.
  • 90 percent of young adults use social networks.
  • 68 percent of all women use social media, versus 62 percent of all men.
