Peter Canellos Named Executive Editor of POLITICO

POLITICO’s Dylan Byers reported early Monday morning that Peter Canellos has been named executive editor of the Rosslyn-based political news outlet.

The announcement was made by Susan Glasser, who in September was promoted from editor of POLITICO Magazine to POLITICO’s editor, following the resignation of executive editor Rick Berke earlier that month.

Canellos, who announced his departure from the Boston Globe in mid-September, was named editor of the its editorial page in 2009, and prior to that served as the outlet’s Washington bureau chief.
