Periscope Is Cracking Down on Fake Hearts Chats, Followers and Views

Account-level spam reporting options will be added soon

Periscope, Twitter’s livestreaming application, is looking to put the kibosh on fake engagements.

The app updated its rules on spam to include artificial hearts, chats, followers and views, as well as selling or promoting fake engagement.

Its spam rules already covered “bulk, aggressive or deceptive activity that attempts to manipulate or disrupt Periscope or the experience of users on Periscope.”

Periscope also revealed that account-level spam reporting options will debut soon.

The app said in a blog post, “Periscope is a place for instant engagement, and we’ve heard your concerns about spammy accounts and chats.
