Pearl Jr, founder of Black Women’s Movement in Los Angeles and the author of Black Women Need Love, Too will appear on CNN’s Out in the Open, giving her views on a Detroit nightclub’s “Light Skin Libra Birthday Bash”.
Pearl got the DJ to cancel his plans for this and his other planned parties for ladies of other skin tones, after having a heart-to-heart talk with the guy. She said:
He was basically falling in line with what we have been taught (by society) that the less African-looking you are the better you are
