PBS NewsHour is gearing up for the 2010 midterm elections with its launch Thursday of PBS NewsHour Politics, which will feature the work of senior correspondents Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff; political analysts David Brooks and Mark Shields; and PBS NewsHour political editor and analyst David Chalian.

Highlights of PBS NewsHour Politics include: daily blog Morning Line, written by Chalian and his team; weekly Web-only feature Political Checklist, helmed by Chalian, Ifill, and Woodruff; Web-only interviews; an interactive calendar enabling users to track key political events; analysis from Brooks and Shields; a list of the top 25 political Twitter feeds to follow; and maps, data, and analysis from Patchwork Nation.
