PassionTag Looks To Monetize Photo Sharing On Facebook

The PassionTag application allows users to attach “SmartTags” to photos, enabling them to promote their passions for brands or causes. PassionTag offered the following examples of SmartTags and their desired results:

  • Market: market a product, service, or website
  • Promote: promote an event, an artist, music, or a movie
  • Drive: drive donations to nonprofits
  • Find: find and locate local merchants
  • Transact: drive commerce transactions and monetize the photo-sharing trend

From the user standpoint, PassionTag said in its overview:

Our platform includes the ability for consumers to create SmartTags and associate them with the photos they share online to enable deeper brand engagement. The call to action contained in the SmartTag is experienced through the social applications PassionTag has developed to work on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, or on PassionTag.com.

The PassionTag v1.0 platform also enables consumers to collect and share SmartTags through the PassionTag mobile app as a registered user. With the mobile app, consumers are capable of associating SmartTags to their own personal photos and sharing them across the PassionTag mobile platform with other PassionTag registered users, as well as sharing them broadly with non-PassionTag users across popular social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

The PassionTag mobile application allows consumers a powerful social networking tool to follow and find others who share their passions to discover brands, events, local merchants, and Web content they may also be interested in.
