Pandora and 2 WarnerMedia Companies Join IAB’s 2019 Podcast Upfront Lineup

The fifth annual event will take place Oct. 16 in New York

Pandora and a pair of WarnerMedia companies (WarnerMedia Podcast Network and The Roost) will make their debuts at Interactive Advertising Bureau’s annual Podcast Upfront, which will be held Oct. 16 in New York.

The IAB unveiled its initial lineup for this year’s event, which is scheduled to take place at Meredith’s headquarters in The Henry Luce Auditorium.

The Podcast Upfront, now its fifth year, will feature 12 presentations overall, including from returning brands like ESPN, iHeartRadio, Market Enginuity, Meredith Corporation, Midroll/Stitcher, NPR, Authentic, Slate, Westwood One and WNYC.

The daylong event serves as a chance for the brands to showcase original programming to advertisers in a bid for their dollars.  Those in the room will hear more about podcasts that range from Adulting to Serial to The Ben Shapiro Show to NPR’s Hidden Brain With Shankar Vedantam.

Last year, IAB’s Podcast Upfront also saw presentations from HowStuffWorks, Panoply Media, Univision and Wondery, but none of those companies are currently scheduled to return to 2019’s event.

“The IAB Podcast Upfront has been an essential driving force in elevating this rapidly-growing medium by offering a marketplace that educates, raises awareness and provides an opportunity for brands, media buyers and digital audio content leaders to come together to strike valuable partnerships,” said IAB president Patrick Dolan in a statement.
