Fans of vintage sitcoms can celebrate the new year in style.
WPIX/Channel 11 renews its ball dropping tradition with a marathon of The Honeymooners starting at 11 p.m. New Year’s Eve. The Jackie Gleason touchstone comedy began on WPIX in 1976, and has been part of the December 31/January 1 programming since 1996. WPIX airs 26 classic episodes featuring the exploits of Ralph Kramden, his bosom buddy Ed Norton, and their wives Alice and Trixie. Channel 11 halts the marathon at 4 a.m.
