On Fonts, In Good Company

16typo.184.jpgThere’s an article in today’s New York Times today, Arial, Mon Amour, and Other Font Passions, focused on font discussions on the internet. It references an early, and very wee, post I made here on Unbeige: Typographic Amateur Hour. (Maybe it was the Lloyd Bentsen reference that roped ’em in?) Also quoted: Mark Simonson, Michael Bierut (on the whole dustup around Barbara Kruger and Futura Bold), along with a bunch of other people with way more font knowledge than I have.

They also link to Fontifier, which was featured in an early post here, Fontastic. I was very new to blogging at that point, and it was one of the first posts I wrote that got linked to a bunch. I get all misty eyed, just thinking about the old days.

In other news: AvroKO hosted a party in the project space at Public, to celebrate the debut of smart.space. They serve some delicious wines there, I have to say. I’ll be back with party photos in a bit.
