Users can sign up with Twitter, Facebook or an email address. They must post a photo of themselves. Both housing seekers and housemate seekers can create profiles.

The site’s pitch is “Think finding a roommate on Craigslist sucks? We do too.” In addition to including photos of those searching for housing and those offering housing, Crashpad differentiates itself from Craigslist by bars realtor advertising, according to the company blog.

At least for now, though, Crashpad invites users to crosspost their listings on Craigslist with a single click.
