Oculus Samsung Gear VR Users Can Livestream Directly to Facebook

360-degree videos are now available in Oculus Rooms

Oculus VR Friday announced new social features for the Samsung Gear VR: more video content for its Oculus Rooms feature, including 360-degree videos, as well as the launch of the Oculus Events (pictured above) feature, the ability to livestream directly to Facebook and Oculus Voice speech recognition.

Facebook’s virtual reality unit said in a blog post that more free video content is available for viewing within Oculus Rooms, including music videos from Vimeo.

360 videos are also available within Oculus Rooms for the first time, and the Oculus team shared the GIF below of Invasion! from Baobab Studios as an example.

Oculus Rooms also added support for voice search, with Oculus saying in its blog post:

Just select “Search” in the TV area and tap the mic button, then speak to search for any Facebook content you want to watch with friends, from cartoons to cat videos.
