NYC Media Teams Up with Howcast on Recycling Video, Accompanying QR Codes

NYC Media will use a How to Recycle video created by Howcast in its campaign to keep New Yorkers informed about city services, broadcasting it on New York City TV station NYC life, as well as making it available on mobile devices via Quick Response codes to be placed on the sides of almost 2,200 New York City Department of Sanitation trucks.
The Howcast video will begin appearing in 6-8 weeks. The video currently being featured (below) is titled The Green Apple: Recycling.

NYC Media chief operating officer Todd Asher said:

New Yorkers have already been coming to our channels and our Web site for who, where, when, and why. Now they can add how. We are also enthusiastic about continuing to use QR code technology and other innovative technology to help get the city’s message out.

And Howcast Media co-founder and CEO Jason Liebman added:

Instructional video provides one of the most effective mediums to reach and educate New Yorkers, and NYC Media’s integration of QR codes to access this content is a great example of how New York City can provide its residents with the information they need, anywhere.
