NY Times Names Randy Archibold Deputy Sports Editor

The Times vet gets a new beat.

The New York Times has named Randy Archibold deputy sports editor. Archibold had served as the Times’ bureau chief for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean since 2010.

Prior to being named bureau chief, Archibold was a national correspondent based in Los Angeles. He has been with the Times since 1998.

Before joining the Times, Archibold worked for the LA Times for five years.
