NY Times Calls Out Bogus Bernie Article
Sorry, Elizabeth Warren still hasn't endorsed anyone.
Bad news Bernie Sanders fans: The New York Times article about Elizabeth Warren endorsing Sanders was bogus.
The fake article carried the headline “Warren Endorses Sanders, Breaking With Colleagues,” had a URL close to that of the Times, and featured spurious quotes from Warren and even Lena Dunham.
“An article circulating on social media tonight that is made to resemble a New York Times story and says Elizabeth Warren endorsed Bernie Sanders is a fake and has no connection to The Times,” said Times deputy executive editor Matthew Purdy.
Unfortunately, this is the age of social media, and that means people don’t bother to check sources.
