NPR News executive editor Edith Chapin announced the hire of Pallavi Gogoi as chief business editor and head of NPR’s business desk. Gogoi, who starts July 10, will join from CNN, where she is senior editor, markets & economy, for CNNMoney. Prior to joining CNN in 2012, Gogoi had been a business writer at the Associated Press. Prior to that, she had reporting roles at USA Today, BusinessWeek and Dow Jones.
“Pallavi is known as an editor and manager who brings out the best in the reporters she works with and who has a great nose for where the story is going next and enterprise reporting that pulls relevant threads together to add up to something more meaningful,” writes Chapin in a note to staff.
