November in Hong Kong, Oh the Sweet Memories

It’s going to take you some work, but if you start now, maybe you can convince your boss, your spouse, or people otherwise in charge of you and your finances, that you desperately need to go to the fifth annual Business of Design conference in Hong Kong in November. Most of the schedules and the guests have been announced just now and it’s looking like it’ll turn out to be quite the event. Professor Dato Jimmy Choo, he of the shoe design, will be there, as will Deyan Sudjic, fresh from his first couple of months at London’s Design Museum. Stephane Martin will be there, President of the much-hated new Musee du Quai Branly in Paris, and a big handful of others, with more to be announced later. Here’s some about the event itself:

Business of Design Week (BODW), now in its fifth year, has become one of the most significant annual events on the international design calendar, attracting high caliber speakers and respected participants representing the best of the global design industry. They come together to share their experiences and visions for the future of brand, design and innovation. A week-long celebration of design excellence and innovation, BODW last year alone attracted thousands of participants from more than 25 countries, as well as more than 70 high caliber speakers from across the design spectrum.
