Ahead of Friday’s monthly jobs report from the Department of Labor, Diggins dug up a report with some depressing results.
Job listings from over 16,000 company web sites around the U.S. plummeted again in March, dropping 19 percent from February. New jobs posted to company web sites dropped slightly less, declining 18 percent from February. The total number of job listings dropped by more than 183,000, far worse than the 127,000 decline between January and February. New jobs posted to those same company sites dropped by more than 129,000 listings.
Some states are fairing better than others. Check out this graph below on states with new job growth and those whose job growth has declined. And don’t forget there are always job openings for your on mediabistro’s job listings.
