Nielsen Social Content Ratings, Week of July 3: Great Balls of Fire!

The Fourth of July holiday weekend kept people away from their television sets

The Fourth of July holiday weekend kept people away from their television sets, as no television series, specials or sports events cracked 500,000 total interactions on Facebook and Twitter, according to the Nielsen Social Content Ratings for the week of July 3.

The WWE Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view wrestling event took home the title belt for the week, with 481,000 total interactions across the two social networks.

It was followed by music awards show Premios Juventud 2017 on Univision, at 340,000 total interactions, and CBS’ Big Brother (314,000).

Major League Baseball games dominated the sports chart, accounting for seven of the 10 entries, including the top two: Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs on MLB Network (359,000 total interactions) and Pittsburgh Pirates at Cubs on TBS (330,000).
