NHL Launches Video Power Play with NHL VideoCenter

The National Hockey League sent its NHL Network Online to the penalty box, replacing it with NHL VideoCenter, which is fully integrated with NHL.com and removes clutter while adding higher-quality video and more social-networking features, paidContent reported.

NHL VideoCenter was developed with NeuLion and, unlike its predecessor, does not require that users navigate to a different site, according to paidContent.

The video window on NHL VideoCenter is larger, and the new player contains buttons for Twitter, Digg and Facebook, along with the option to resize the embedded player, paidContent reported.

The league also added three new channels: NHL Shootout Channel, which will show all NHL game shootouts start to finish; NHL Press Room, for breaking news and live press conferences; and NHL Library, which features classics and archives.
