London-Based Newsweek Editor Takes Over as Global EIC
As part of the changes, Matt McAllester will relocate to New York
For Matt McAllester (pictured), it will be a triumphant return to U.S. shores.
From 1994 to 2007, he rose through the Newsday ranks, starting as a local reporter on Long Island and eventually moving up to Middle East bureau chief and a foreign correspondent covering world affairs. Following stints with Details, CUNY and Time magazine, McAllester has spent the past few years in London, working as Europe editor for Time magazine and as international editor for Newsweek.
