News Corp. to Launch National iPad Paper

Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. has in the works a new national newspaper to be distributed by subscription over Apple’s iPad tablet and other mobile devices, the Los Angeles Times reports:

“We’ll have young people reading newspapers,” the 79-year-old Murdoch said during the company’s Aug. 4 earnings call. “It’s a real game changer in the presentation of news.”

The iPad newspaper would cast a broader net than the business-oriented Wall Street Journal, says the Times. New York Post managing editor Jesse Angelo will be heading up the launch.
